ID Comms Third Annual #JOMO
For the third year running, our team is celebrating #JOMO (The Joy of Missing Out) to support work-life balance and wellbeing, and to avoid burnout.
Back in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, we noticed something in our team. Like everyone else, we were months into a difficult season and started to see the fatigue on everyone’s faces. We were tired and stressed and needed a break, but getting away from work was difficult when we were all stuck inside, working from home.
So we had an idea…
Remember the feeling of that magical week each December, between Christmas and New Year’s, when you can really forget about work?
It’s proper silence. It’s a nourishing feeling because you know that no one else is working that week, so there is no chance you’ll miss something important. No need to think about how you could be contributing. No emails to scroll through. There is nothing to miss, so there is nothing to worry about.
We like to call that feeling JOMO (The Joy of Missing Out) and in 2020, we implemented ID Comms’ first #JOMO. A time where we all take a break and collectively exhale as a team.
The pandemic seems a distant memory now and the world has gone back to running full speed, but we are hanging onto the importance of taking time to slow down and rest as a team. The first installment was such a success, so well-received by our team and supported by our clients, that we knew we had to make it an annual tradition.
This year, we will celebrate our third annual #JOMO around Thanksgiving. We’ll all go offline for three days from November 23-25 to recharge and spend time with loved ones.
